OnCourse for food and drink success stories

Two food and drink entrepreneurs who found success using unique recipes are to tell their stories at the next OnCourse Innovation Leadership event.

Peverel Manners’ development of sparkling fruit drinks and Joe Schneider’s resurrection of a traditional cheese have brought refreshing new dimensions to the food and drink market.

Guest speakers at the OnCourse event run by Nottingham Development Enterprise (NDE) on November 12, the two enthusiasts will be talking about how they grew their businesses and their journey to success.

Belvoir Fruit Farms near Grantham and run by managing director Peverel Manners, is one of the UK’s pioneers in the adult soft drink market. Since starting up in 1984, the company has been consistently innovative in the development and manufacturing processes it uses to produce its Cordials, sparkling Pressés and ‘Good Stuff’ ranges.

“We make the best tasting, healthy soft drinks to unique recipes and use natural raw materials”, says Peverel, who took over the family business in 1997.

Cheese-maker Joe Schneider of Stichelton Dairy near Mansfield has put his talents into making a blue cheese last tasted by British consumers in 1989.

His passion for producing traditional cheeses led Joe to team up with Neals Yard Dairy. “We set up a small-scale dairy and poured all our knowledge and passion into Stichelton so that British consumers can enjoy one of Britain’s best known and best loved cheeses in its original form,” he said.

Greater Nottingham Partnership (GNP) is funding the OnCourse Innovation Leadership series, which attracts both aspiring and established entrepreneurs to its events, until 2011.
